We had a DECENT catch of BONITO today and we also caught some nice LING with BLUEFISH mixed in. We also had some Fluke and we found some Sea Bass and caught a couple at the end of the day. Everything has been caught on Run Off jigs & croc's. We did catch some. It is coming late in the afternoon around 4 or 5 o’clock and it will stop before Sunday’s trip starts. Additionally, regional bus service with modest fares is provided daily by ECO Transit with service to Vail, Leadville, Minturn, Eagle-Vail, Avon, Edwards, Eagle and Gypsum. There were PLENTY of them - all you wanted with BLUEFISH over 20 lbs. Hopefully the weather will cooperate with us and we can enjoy some relaxing fishing on Mach 19 - see you then. Our Morning Trip leaves the dock at 7:30am and our Afternoon Fishing & Sunset cruise leaves the dock at 4:30pm. Later in the day we had birds crashing and more bass rolling but the same result. Looks like a little rain tomorrow but aside from that it should be fine for fishing and that will probably keep the boat traffic down so see you in the morning. They weighed in the 3 - 5 lb range and everything was on jigs. We will not be sailing tomorrow due to the high winds bu the weather for the weekend looks nice so come on down. STRIPER season is here and there are lots of fish out there so now is the time to come on down. The fishing picked up pretty good. It was a gorgeous day in the ocean and we had some fish today just not enough. We saw fish on top and splashing around under the birds so we would drift, pick at the BLUES and we had some action for a few hours. There were a lot of birds around and a lot of fish too. Everybody had a great time catching these BIG BLUES and there were a lot smiling and happy people getting off the boat. We did pick a few BLUES. We will be at it again tomorrow. We had a good bunch of PORGIES, several CODFISH to 20 lbs, a few POLLOCK and at night A LOT of BLUEFISH. Come on down and join us on the Golden Eagle and enjoy this great fishing. There are a lot of fish out there they just didn’t bite like they have been the past week or so. BLUEFISHING left a lot to be desired but we gave it a good effort and caught a few but not enough so we went into SEA BASS mode and had very decent fishing. We also had quite a few BIG PORGIES, some WEAKFISH, throw back SEA BASS and throw back FLUKE. It will be a fun way to celebrate Father’s Day weekend with family and friends. It was a VERY GOOD day of STRIPER FISHING!! It took us some time to locate the MACKEREL today but once we did it was good fishing. These fish are big, they are hungry and they fight. AND, some STRIPERS are STARTING TO BE CAUGHT!!! but got bigger as the day went on - up to 15 lbs. We had lots of BLUEFISH, some BONITO, some ALBACORE, a nice handful of HOUNDFISH, KING MACKEREL, SPANISH MACKEREL and an uncountable number of MACKEREL. The weather was perfect with the ocean like a lake. Everybody had a great time and it was a beautiful day. It started off slow in the morning with the smaller BLUES. As soon as they are around everybody will know about it. We caught them on Run Off hammer jigs and teasers. It started off good and then slowed way down and then came on strong around noon. We went up to the north and back to the south and there were lots of fish, bait fish and bunkers but the fish would not bite. The MACKEREL seemed a bit skittish because there were a lot of sharks around. That had an effect on the fishing - the drift was over 2 knots (way to fast) and you needed 16oz or more weight to keep your line down there. The BLUEFISH were scarce today so we switched gears and had fun catching PORGIES, LING and SEA BASS. It was a gorgeous day in the ocean and we picked at the 1 to 3 LB. It was a great day of fishing with a lot of happy customers. The weather was really nasty out there this morning and I think that had a lot to do with how the fishing was but it got nicer as the day went on. In fact, I could open a tackle store with all the tackle that the Super Hawk customers left in our anchor lines and at times they were no more than 50 feet from us. We limited the boat out on BLUEFINS and had a nice mix of YELLOWFIN with some limits. range and they were all on jigs. A little hot but otherwise just a beautiful day in the ocean. After the BLUEFISH were done, we caught a lot of nice KEEPER SEA BASS with some limit catches there also, some BONITO, some small MAHI and some nice BIG KEEPER FLUKE. We had a lot of fish with lots of slot fish, only a few shorts and a nice showing of keepers. We will be back at it in the morning. The BLUES showed up today in force - 6 to 12 lb fish - everything is being caught on jigs, Time to come down and catch some of these fish. We found the BLUES very close to the inlet this morning and it was a steady pick for a while. WE WILL NOT BE FISHING TOMORROW, FRIDAY, DUE TO THE WEATHER. They were all on Run Off hammer jigs. We had some SEA BASS, BLUEFISH, MACKEREL, LING, FLUKE and several BLACK TIPPED SHARKS that were returned to the ocean. We fished the Hudson during the night and then after the sun came up we moved inshore about 30 miles and fished were some tuna had been caught a few days before, but no luck. We also had BLUEFISH, a nice big fat BONITO, BLACKFISH and SEA BASS. The MACKEREL were everywhere! The nice fall weather has arrived and this is a great time of year to enjoy a day of fishing in the ocean. with a bunch of others on but we broke off all but the big one. Tomorrow looks like another gorgeous day in the ocean. It was a beautiful day today and we did catch a keeper STRIPER but it wasn't enough. We also had some nice SEA BASS. It was NON-STOP right from the beginning of the day to the end of the day. This is STRIPER weather. When we first got there we were only picking a handful of BLUES a drift, but it got better and better as the afternoon went on and we ended up with a good catch of BLUES with some SEA BASS & PORGRIES mixed in. We kept picking away and picking away at them and we ended up with a decent catch of fish. Today the BONITA fishing was pretty good withe some ALBIES and some MACKEREL mixed in. Everybody limited out on GIANT SEA BASS and we had plenty of PORGIES to go around. We had plenty of BASS and plenty of BLUEFISH. At the end of the day while everyone was relaxing, we went whale watching and found a whale just south of where we were who put on a great show jumping out of the water with lots of big splashes and rolling on his side waving his fin. We started out trying to find the BLUEFISH but we couldn’t so we made some SEA BASS stops and had some pretty good fishing.
